Circle Punch Heaven

I think I first saw this idea of using punched circles as scallops/petals here at KWernerdesign.com. LOVE IT!!! And of course the faux stitching! Kristina is the queen of faux stitching.

"Nomadic" Inspiration

This card was inspired by a simple, wonderful design I caught over at The Crafty Nomad. The card is actually toward the end of the post. LOVE the trees and the cork! I took the card in a slightly different direction but am thankful for the great idea.

And let me say how much I adore my Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine. After doing some soul-searching, I decided that I don't want to die cut at home. I don't want to spend the money on the dies and I don't want to make space for all that stuff. I might change my mind, but for now I am content! I love that the embossing folders are so inexpensive and easily stored. I also like that the Texture Boutique can use folders from several different manufacturers. Here's a quick demo video that sealed the deal for me! It's so fun to work with my 6 year old on embossing projects...I make the sandwich and he turns the crank!

Postage Stamp "Quilt" Design

I loved this quilt idea from the moment I first saw it on KWernerdesign.com. That very day I looked all over for this stamp punch from Martha Stewart Crafts. It seemed unavailable everywhere! In the end, I purchased it from an Etsy seller. Sometimes I just take this punch out and play with it for no reason at all!

One other note about this card...not sure how very well you can see the sentiment along the bottom of the craft card. It repeats the phrase "live laugh love." I had fun stamping this first in an ink called Teddy Bear, then over-stamping it in an opaque lavender ink. In person, this technique tricks your eye and the words almost look embossed. Fun!

Created for a Cause Ministry

I decided to spend a little time using up some spare supplies to make a set of cards to donate to the card-making ministry at my church. Once I got started, it was addictive. I made 35 cards all together in these 7 designs. I was able to be creative, clear-out materials that were just sitting in the closet and support a WONDERFUL cause. Triple Win.

(my next few posts will highlight specific sources of inspiration for a couple of the designs)
